Rare and Weird Drivers

My friends just upgraded from WinME to Win2K (Clean Format and Install)
everything is sweat, apart from the sound card.
Its a Compaq 5000 Series Computer, I thought It had an ESS soundcard or a SoundMax Digital AudioDrive card, but its not. There's a Modem in it so It might be a joint thing, not too sure.
I really need a driver, and help would be greatly appreciated.

Start looking from CompaqSupport and put in your exact model specs.

Okay, GF, Thanks, I downloaded all 19 Megs of the thing, it installed and picked it up, but no sound actually comes out of the speakers, headphones dont go either, nothing. Any Suggestions. Should I try searching for a more specific driver, now that I know what type the soundcard is??
