The forgoten Password

I am having this problem with outlook 2000.
Operating system is W2K Pro.
everytime I check my email i am prompted to enter my email server password
alothough under outlook 2000 I went to Tools, Accounts, Mail tab, properties
Servers tab and placed a tick in the 'remeber password' box.
i then click apply then ok, if i check the same settings again the password should appear as *****...etc
but nothing is there.

I tried removing the whole account and adding it again but sill had the same problem.

I run 4 other machines with the same operating system and office 2000 and none have this problem.
I am always loged in the machine as an administrator.
My network setting also include 'Client for MS Networks'

Any ideas .

just a thought....where u put a tick in remember password, thers also a box about password authentication, give tha a check out see if that helps, other than that.....
