I would suggest that you look at downloading one of two European Anti-Virus programmes, still available free to Home Users outside Europe. Grisoft AVG Free Edition is available at http://www.grisoft.com . Anti-Vir Personal Edition is available from http://www.free-av.com . Either of these will perform as well as the major brand-name products, provided that you download an update regularly.

AVG only got abou 90% of the virus' in a test over in a mag in OZ. So I wouldn't go for it.
