Default Hands off my plastic Bags !

What this CONTINUED cal fro bannign plastic supermarket bags ?

I like getting them, as I find them useful around the house as rubbish bin liners.

I do not litter anywhere with them. And none of mine end up in the sea.

They don't take up much room in a landfill and they do rot away after a few years.

And each week I put 3 or 4 into my rubbish wheelie bin full of small bits of rubbish.

Do what Singapore does and chase the litterers.

I like them too, but I think it takes more than a few years for them to rot away. They account for an amazing tonnage of waste every year, trouble is there is no comparable product to replace them with.
I have used reusable ones and they are fine, but less convenient and I never remember to take them with me. And you can't line your bin with them.

I agree. We use them for all sorts of things. But the lifestyle police seem to think that they are the most evil thing in the world..

The lifestyle police is most evil thing in the world. Why do these fringe dingos' get so much exposure? It's always the fringe with hardly any numbers in their coven that expect us to bow to their beliefs - a right pack of W******s that should be shot down as often and as quickly as possible - the cheek of them!!!!!!!!!

As always its the few who do discard that ruin it for the many so before anyone jumps on there high horse spare a thought for the wa&*Kers who have wrecked it for you. But then again how can you be certain your bags do end up in the landfill anyway?

Could you please tell me where that photo was taken, so that I can go and get them, as I am running out of bags here at home

In this day & age I would have thought it possible to make plastic bags that disintegrate after a set time. There would have to be somr trigger that starts the progress tho. Think of the bags holding stuff in your garage. PJ

They don't really rot...they do become brittle and break up into very small pieces, all plastic does that.

Used for rubbish or not, how do you know what happens to them after your bin has been collected? I've seen plastic bags blowing around at the tip....
We have enough pollution now....it is possible to make similar stuff from biodegradable materials, corn for instance.
    But I guess it's cost....

And we know the world runs on cheap for the manufacturer...
We did manage before plastic, even I remember paper rubbish bags, and paper supermarket bags.
