Another post giving the chance to be pedantic with the English language !

There are of course no such things as hot or cold temperatures, despite the weather presenters constantly talking about them. Temperature is just a measure, a number, a scalar quantity and as such does not have any physical properties that could be hot or cold.

    I would respectfully disagree
just as there is no big or small , no heavy or light , no high nor low ? All just a description , not an exact measure .
If you stick your finger into boiling water , you wont be screaming too cold cold cold , nor scream "too 100deg C"

Although, anything over Absolute Zero is by definition hot anyway.

God forgives all pedants Terry.. It makes for discussion.

My long departed father used numbers in a different way than most.

"How long before we get there Dad?" "We'll be there in two shakes of a dogs hind leg Son!"

We would all get into the car, he would start the engine then say..."we're off like a dirty shirt!"

We always understood what he mean't.

Well you don't scream too hot either, well I don't. Normally it would be **** or something......
And that has nothing to do with temperature either....
