Default USB Flash Drive To HDMI TV with no USB input.

    Hi all

I've been looking for an adaptor from USB Female > HDMI Male.

Basically want to know whether it's possible to get an adaptor or cable to go into the HDMI input on the TV, with a female USB connector to stick a flash drive into it. Unfortunately no direct USB input on the TV.

Looked at local and some overseas sites ... haven't found one, so I'm guessing they're not available. If anyone has seen one, I'd appreciate information as to where. Open to any other suggestions how I can connect them ... computer is too far away from the tv to run an HDMI cable and wireless is rubbish due to the building.

    TIA

    No.

HDMI is a digital video and audio connector, USB flash drives are storage devices. You need something that can read and translate the data on the USB drive and play it to send it to HDMI in video format.
There are many cheap media players that will do the job though and a lot of blu-ray or DVD players have the functionality built in as well and probably are a better deal. the WD live is a popular player with good format support if you can find one.

Thanks guys ... thought as much. My DVD player does have USB, but it's bloody picky what formats it will accept and converting them doesn't always work either.

Looks like the wife's lappy is going to come down with a technical problem which may take some time to identify ... and even longer to fix :-)
