EQC Internet Claim Form

my tv smashed in the christchurch earthquake
it was still on hire purchase
just i pay it off next month
i emailed smith city and they said it a eqc claim
so im trying to claim online but on the form it says
Who are the contents insured with?
on the drop down box i cant see Smiths City Group
do they use another insurance company ??

You should be putting in whoever your house contents are insured with. You do have contents insurance?

EQC cover only applies to people who have insurance cover as you pay the EQC levy as part of your insurance policy.

when i emailed smiths city they said its covered by eqc
i dont have contents
but as part of all hire purchase agreements
its insured while you paying off the item
plus i got a 5 year extended warrenty but not sure if the 5 year covers natrual disasters but i remember the hire purchase does

got it sorted now
i rang them insteed thought i be on hold for hours but took mins to get through
it is covered
