    Default outlook express not receiving all emails

    I always use "outlook express" for my emails, no problem. Just visited a friend in Paeroa who said "why did'nt I answer his email" he sent. I said I never received it. I looked at "yahoo xtra email pro" and there was in the spam folder 234 spams plus his two and one from my cousin in uk. I normally receive emails from these two with no prob. in OE. Why do their emails very occasionly get sent to YXPE instead of my OE? Any help appreciated.

    Yahoo Xtra is in fact your telecom/Xtra account Via the web mail.

    It all changed when they did the yahoo Bubble / Xtra muck up.

    They changed their spam filters a while back, and now many people get legit mails marked as spam by xtra and dumped in the spam folder.

    True my broadband is with xtra. Why does the occasional email go to YXPR? in stead of OE?

    It all goes through your webmail account before you download it via OE.

    If the webmail spam filter app thinks it looks dodgy, it will reroute it to the webmail spam folder and you will never see it unless you log into your webmail account.

    Could be something to do with the Subject line. Certain keywords etc, might put them in the spam category.

    LOTS of invoices and news letters get marked as spam by Xtra - I know my invoices do, and so do many other people I know if the accounting program is capable of sending out invoices. Send them as a PDF attachment and its fine.

    BTW-- ONLY xtra has this problem, all of the other ISP's -- No worries.

    Go into your webmail, DISABLE the spam filter.
    Your email will no longer be filtered by Xtra (Actually Yahoo AUS)
    Live with the spam coming through, at least you know no legit mail is blocked.

    Because spam filters aren't perfect. mark as NOT SPAM and it will resolve.
