I have a new Toshiba 500 Laptop with Windows 7. It has only 2 USB ports (plus a 3rd one with the Ethernet port which doubles as a USB port if i unplug the Ethernet cx to my brdband modem.) So to preserve my few USB connections i tried a BlueTooth mouse which, according to its instructions should not need a BT dongle if the computer itself was said to be BT ready. I understand that the cmputer is, but it cant "find" the mouse.
What hardware/device/firmware do i check to find out whether the laptop is capable of using BT devices?
If laptop is not capable what do I need to make it so? (surely not a dongle for each connexion!)
Is there such a thing as a USB "multi-plug", which wd give me 2 or more USB ports from the use of 1?(like a double electric power plug)
I am considering getting a wireless modem to enable me to log on from various parts of the house. (& wd also give me a USB port back). ANy tricks or issues i shd watch out for in buying a BT modem? I dont plan a home network, just the one laptop able to get on-line when within range of the wireless modem.
