Those arent Windows 7 drivers tho, are they?? According to the HP site, there are no drivers for this printer, and there are no drivers available through windowsupdate. And it doesnt look like there's Vista drivers for it either
I have an HP Scanjet 6300c, and I have downloaded and installed the software and drivers, but the software says it can't see the scanner. How can I make this work?

Seems there are no drivers for that model for Vista or Windows 7, so it prob wont work. HP only made drivers for XP and below.
You can try this - but if W7 didn't detect the scanner when connecting then it prob wont work - click start / Devices and printers, Add Device (top left) it will search for the scanner and load driversr as long as its connected and will accept it.
If you have W7 pro or above you could try it in Via XP mode, which is a free download from MS. The other option you can install a virtual machine and load in XP if you have one, thats if you have Home Pre and try it through that.

If you want to use an XP driver in W7 you usually cant install the driver from the CD.
Select the folder on the CD which has the XP driver and copy it to your hard drive. Add printer, then when it wants to look for a driver, navigate to the folder you copied. This often works as the system does not know that the driver is for XP. I have an old Mustek scanner working with an ME driver on W7. Same procedure works for your Video driver.
XP drivers. Somehow a reboot and reinstall has fixed it.

Wasn't that tried before posting the question ??
Thats basic install procedure, many software packages ( not just scanners) need a reboot to get the software to work correctly.
Oh well - good that its working anyway![]()
