Re: Windows 10 Fall Update on its way

America really does think the world revolves around them. What about all the upside down users who get the AUTUMN update in Spring and vice versa. These are the real questions.

    Re: WiFi Range Extender

Wireless range extenders are almost never a good option. If you could run a cable from the Huawei modem to your other modem, and configure that second modem correctly (different IP, DHCP off) that...

    Re: Motherboard recommendation.

To be honest you can't go far wrong these days. I would personally stick to either Gigabyte or Asus for the mainboard and graphics card. just get a board that has the specs you want.

  8. Re: Windows 7 admin password recovery or reset

+1 for NT Password Reset. Easiest option for Win7. There are at least half a dozen other options too if you can't get NT going for any reason.

    Re: Recording TV Programmes

You are far, far better off getting a UHF aerial. You can use all the same cabling. More channels, way better quality on HD channels and many more options for decoders etc.

Yeah I've definitely had CourierPost deliver stuff from eBay and AliExpress. Normally the signature required stuff.

    Re: AliExpress

Everything I've always had as been NZ Post/Courier Post. Always had a calling card left if they didn't leave the package. I'd wait a day or two before following it up with them.

    Re: New laptop opinion

+1 for an ex-lease notebook. You should be able to get something with an i3 or i5 processor and a SSD for that money.

    Re: Recording TV Programmes

Haven't used one myself, but the Panasonic DMR-HWT260GN seems to be the best option.

Edit - sorry, I see you said satellite. Are you not in a Freeview|HD coverage area?

Re: I need a new car - recommendations please

All good, only other thought would be a Fuga 350GT? Pretty much the same as a Mark X though.

Re: I need a new car - recommendations please

The only car I can think of that meets all those requirements is a Toyota Mark X.

If you weren't worried about RWD, then a Toyota Blade would be a good option. Basically a Corolla with a Camry...

Re: Why has my ping time increased?

Best things you can do are to make sure your line is as good as it can be - this means a master splitter to be installed if it isn't already, and getting a UPS for the modem isn't a bad idea either,...

Re: How about $440.00 for a spare key?

$440 is not all that bad Greg. I've been quoted over $600 for a new key for a festy old Estima.

I would tend to agree with R2. buying an old Beemer is just asking for trouble. Why not something...
  20. Re: Unable to buy 95 octane petrol? Don't blame the pipeline entirely ...

The media blew the whole thing right out of proportion. 'FUEL CRISIS" arrghhh everyone go and panic and buy a heap of fuel. If that hadn't happened the average person would never have had an issue.

Re: Adding gmail account to Win Livemail

It's just poop. Very hard to get data into/out of for people using POP, or migrating from other mail clients.

If you exclusively use Gmail/outlook.com it's ok. Anything more, nope.

Re: Adding gmail account to Win Livemail

As has been said, just enable access for less secure apps.

You can also go into Gmail settings/labels and untick starred, important and all mail. That will speed syncing up significantly.

Re: Why has my ping time increased?

With ddDLM now being active, this can cause changes in sync speeds and potentially minor changes in ping times. How are you testing the ping, and to what location? 40ms is still quite pretty good to...
