  1. Re: Outlook stopped pulling emails from gmail server

You can always use the Gmail web page, even if you prefer outlook it gives you a reliable alternative if you have any more problems.
Myself I only use webmail these days, I don't find clients offer...

    Re: Computer is soooo slow!

Also does windows 7 index the drive after a fresh install? that can slow things down for quite a while until it catches up.
And yes an i3 might be a bit "lame" but that doesn't explain the slowness...

    Re: Factory Reset

Not quite, although backing up is definitely good advice. It will not for example revert to older versions of the OS or remove updates, it'll just reset the current OS to it's freshly installed state...

    Re: Win10 Update ...???

Yes I accept there are real issues with windows update at times. I just wanted to share a counter point of how well it works for many of us because these threads often give the impression that it...

    Re: Cheap Laptop

I had an Acer tablet with very similar specs. It was ok really as long as you didn't try to multitask and was surprisingly good at playing Video or streaming so I think it would be ok for the things...

    Re: Win10 Update ...???

Mine's just on whatever the default setting is and the only time I usually notice updates is when I shut down, and then occasionally when I start up the next day. But it's never been more than a few...

    Re: Dogs, and b****s

    1. I love dogs. Seriously
    2. The problem is both the woman AND the dog - the woman did not bite anyone. The woman is the worse of the two I will agree to that.
    3. Crazy people having access to dogs...

    Re: Recording TV Programmes

I used a TiVo for years, great device pity about it being useless soon. But for probably the last year I have stopped watching broadcast TV at all - recorded or otherwise. Now I just stream...

Re: I need a new car - recommendations please

Not all belts need replacing under 100K, my 2002 Camry I recently traded in was recommended by Toyota to be replaced at 160k and American forums are full of people who have done up to double that...

    Re: Dogs, and b****s

Personally I think any and all dogs out in public need to be restrained. The only possible exception is areas specifically designated for exercising dogs, so other people can avoid them if they wish...

    Re: New laptop opinion

An ex-lease i3 or i5 would have better specs for the same price, but it'll obviously also be older. Just a thought.

A few places I can recommend for ex-lease gear, had good dealings with all of...
  13. Re: HDMI PROBLEM. BLUE RAY PLAYER MODE NOT SUPPORTED BT TV?

You'll need software to play blu-ray on PC but yes it'll work, I do it myself.

You could also try connecting your PC monitor to the Blu ray player if it has an HDMI port. Might support more modes...

Re: I need a new car - recommendations please

There are sporty versions of it, not sure if they get imported here or not though. Never understood why they don't sell them new here.

RWD, Sporty, under 15K - nothing springs to mind at all. RWD...
  15. Re: Connect mobile to PC to use its Internet via wi-fi?

To do it via your laptop you would need to set it up as a wifi access point and then connect to that via the wi-fi on your phone. It's not a common thing which is why clear instructions may be hard...

    Re: Huge install DIR fix?

IF it's the only drive I agree with 1101, 120G is just too small by itself.
If you also have a data drive however it's entirely possible to avoid these issues, my windows installation < 45G and I've...

Re: Unusual problem with second monitor

Can you swap cables to see if the problem moves?

    Re: PC Operating Temps.
