Re: Where to find a maari?

I wouldn't say people are intentionally being racist, moreover it's a blend of being slightly uneducated and our accent.

Same way my sister (who speaks relatively good Chinese after living in...
  2. Re: Quad copter "point of view" of crippled cruise ship

I've flown a few before FPV and LoS, good times. Just got to watch yourself and not become a cocky bastard. Seen many a good plane go to waste because some larrykin decided to show off and climb to...
  3. Re: Welcome iNoob, we are honoured to meet you

Hmm, must be an apple device, an i in front of the name, thinks it's special for no reason, thinks everyone should look at it and pay attention and can't be persuaded by logic or otherwise....
  4. Re: Trademe car dealer fined $42,000 over fake bids

Good thing is he seems to have taken it in his stride. He's paid up and he's not gone into hiding. As far as scammers go he's probably one of the more decent ones.
  5. Re: Quad copter "point of view" of crippled cruise ship

Only insurance would have to cover the actual plane, and I doubt you could get that insured. AFAIK the only places I'd want to fly any further than LoS would be areas far far away from anything that...

Re: Fried HDMI ports on tv and xbox 360

Bloody good point actually, fire up the 360 and check the HDMI settings, change them to something you know is good or bump them down to 480p just to make sure the cable's working. One TV of mine only...
  7. Re: Quad copter "point of view" of crippled cruise ship

Nice footage. I'm building an RC FPV plane at (albeit verrrrry slowly :p ) considered a quad (or hex copeter) but I prefer planes. Any footage I capture will be nice sweeping scenes anyway, and long...

Re: Fried HDMI ports on tv and xbox 360

Depends, AFAIK there's no real way a home user could intentionally abuse an HDMI port to the point of failure in the way descrived. Unless the kids did something fishy and aren't saying anything I'd...

    Global Proxy in Windows 8

Anyone know of a way to enforce a global proxy with authentication in Windows 8? It's annoying because some things work and others don't with the built in proxy tools. Chrome and IE work, as do parts...

Re: Fried HDMI ports on tv and xbox 360

If you have an HD TV don't bother with the yellow component plug. Quality is utter sh*t. Use the HD capable Green/blue/red one. I have a spare HD lead if you want it (in Wellington)
  13. Re: WHy the huge public misconception about taxes?

As much as we hate taxes they are a rather essential part of day to day life. Without them we'd be royally f*****

What I don't like is when I think the taxes I am paying are misappropriated or...
  14. Re: Welcome iNoob, we are honoured to meet you

Am I too late? Ingress and the missus kept me from being here earlier!

Hasn't wrecked himself on the way has he?

    Re: laptop GPU upgrade

Laptop model number? Might help us tell you what will fit in your machine (if at all) and what will work :)

But if it's just a cooler GPU you're after then dust cleaning or modding the origional...
  16. Re: Sir Bob Jones: NZ should abolish its armed forces

It extends more than their useful role as a defence. Other than the jobs that it provides our military budget allows a lot of other things to happen that simply wouldn't otherwise, things such as aid...

  18. Re: Does 'ReadyBoost' actually do any good?

Yeah, my general experience is it can make a average sort of boost in everyday functions, but really you'd do better putting in more RAM, anything other than basic desktop tasks is a waste of time...
  19. Re: Welcome iNoob, we are honoured to meet you

I honestly haven't stopped laughing at this bucket of piss since he/she started posting.

Trolling or not, it's made my day but wasted a few people's time no doubt
  20. Re: Welcome iNoob, we are honoured to meet you

And to think I even thought of switching the telly on, here's some damn fine entertainment for free
  21. Re: Does 'ReadyBoost' actually do any good?

Surprisingly made the world of difference on an older vista machine. Remembering of course that the read/write cycles will wear out a USB pretty fast.

    Re: Derail the Train!!!!!

I can understand that people wouldn't pull the Emergency brake considering that those trains make an awful lot of "strange" noise, esp on the J'ville line.

Despite that I'm Esp surprised that no...
  24. Re: "Never buy a second-hand cellphone; you never know where it's been."

Speaking of 2nd hand phones, I almost always buy mine 2nd hand, nothing to gain from new ones really, although I just found out that my S2 has an iPhones IMEI :P the guy probably skimped on his O2...
