It is working OK in general, but there seemms top be a problem with interacting with touch. It doesn't seem to be responding to scrolling gestures for instance. Has anyone else experienced this? It doesn't help that I am new to Win8 and touch screens myself, so it could be something I am doing wrong.

I also found pressing the back-arrow moved the cursor some number of lines up the screen rather than back a few characters . I'm thinking of going to Open Office instead - any thoughts?

Yes, I know well that the normal answer is 'You don't!' and I normally don't. However, in this case I have been trying to email a govt department which is renowned for its extreme tardiness. I sent an email a few weeks ago by their internal process (can't remember whether it was using a form or not) and today I got an email which I suspect is a response. The problem is that the sender is "Individuals email" and the subject is "Re: Send an Enquiry Form submission", which is very noninformative. It has no attachment. Telephoning them to check on its validity is out of the question as you could write a book while waiting for a human to answer (that is why I emailed them in the first place!) and the call is often disconnected after about 20 minutes of waiting anyway. So if it is a genuine reply I don't want to trash it as that would kill my enquiry and I would be back to square one.
I am sure I have read somewhere (? on this forum) that it is possible to quarantine an email and open it in a safe environment. Is that possible and practical? I don't use email preview as my understanding is that that can trigger an undesirable payload. My email is live scanned with Avast but that is probably not bulletproof (nothing was reported for this one).

Would be grateful for any help. TIA

Using Eudora client and Fastmail email service.

Anyone know of any good/decent photography forums? I'm looking for one that's kinda like PF1, a few regulars who will have time to help. Unfortunately with something like XDA you have so many people asking so many things (from really noob questions to really technical ones) you can get lost and not actually have any decent discussions.

Mostly looking to talk about analogue process and various techniques. My latest wonder is where to get Orthographic film and paper like Kodalith (I found a few pieces of damaged/exposed kodalith and really liked the outcome of it when I did some enlargements)

If any if you know a good forum, or have any discussion I'd be interested to hear back,

Cheers,

True to Telecom's style of marketing, Xnet announce their Fusion plans in a straightforward way but what they don't tell you in their sales spiel is that you'll be billed the full monthly amount of the bundle plan you choose, even if you do not use all of your broadband allowance for that plan. I had to dig for that information on the phone to Xnet. There was dead silence from the Xnet rep when I pointed out that this info should be plainly visible on their website and in their sales literature.
