This thread (http://pressf1.pcworld.co.nz/showthread.php?t=36889) should be of some help. If not, do a search on this forum for "save streaming media" or "streaming audio capture".

Recording from the wave or stereo mix sources on the souncard is probably your best bet, unless you can find the file in a temporary internet/files folder somewhere

An update on the thread referenced by FoxMX.
Although old and now hard to find Real Encoder 5.1 does work ok with Windows XP. I still use it but there must be other free encoders that will do the job ok. I'm sure many have been mentioned on this site.
Real Encoder 5.1 can still be obtained from these sites:
http://www.lol.it/download/real/renc51.exe
ftp://ftp.quipo.it/pub/music/players/real/renc51.exe
(You don't need to be able to read Italian)

I use "PolderbitS" which is very easy to use. Additionally it is simple to break your recording into separate tracks should you then want to burn onto a CD.
It does cost money though. The cost recently went up to 29.95 Euros - but then we are a two income family ;) There is a free 14 day trial, which can be extended for a further 14 days (also free !)
The program can also be used for recording from tape or vinyl.
Link is http://www.polderbits.com/

Just done a check and 29.95 Euros at current exchange rate is NZ$54.21 (Ouch !) :(
If you are at school or a fee-paying student etc then you will probably want to look more at the fully free programs. However if you can afford it then I think that some free programs can be frustrating, especially if you are using a lot or on a long-term basis.
Anyway, let us all know what you decide.

Sorry, that wasnt very clear of me Bizo.
Click on File --> Open File
Browse and find the file
Click (Down the bottom) on "Stream Output", then click the Settings button next to it.
Tick "File" and specify a filename to dump it to.
Im not sure if you do or do not tick Dump raw output, Im going by memory of VLC here (am at work ATM).
Hope this helps
Chill.
