Time for another one of these to celebrate the new PF1, don't you think? I'll start off. Btw mods, reckon you could turn IMG code on in the OT forum? :)

i desktop looks the same all year round - you cannt see the background and there is a unorganised clutter of anything and everything - start menu is sadly worse

My Desktop (http://zygar.co.nz/images/desktop/desktop16dec.jpg)It is probably a good idea leaving it off, so that people with 56k dont have to wait for all the images to load, if they only want to see the latest ones.

if images can be posted in the thread inself it may get a bit slow for people with slow connections - best to let people choose if they want to view a image or not

You should see my laptop one. over 200 icons on it. (1920x1200 resolution. Not uploading for obvious reasons.)

Actually, on some other vbulletin forums I frequent, there's an option to turn off displaying IMG code- instead it just posts a link. It's a useful feature.

I got a nice desktop, but it features partial nudity. No nipples or gentials are shown, so not sure if that is suitable for this forum? Would love to show it, but want to be the first to be booted from the new look forum.

Just link to a page linking to the image.

You are that way separated from the image, and safe :D.

And noone, what exactly is special about my desktop? It's quite normal really, just the background.

Furthermore, I predict that in the future MrBeef will say "u can edit ur posts u know instead of having 2 post a correcting post".

Cheers George

Huh? How did you (george12) know Mr Beef would say that?

Did you edit your post after he posted his? Therefore making a prediction?

Anyways, how can I fix a post? This question is for another thread. Will ask later, or figure it out. (EDIT: I figured it out. Gee, Im dumb!)

And, hmm.... a link to the image of my desktop... I'll think about that.

MrBeef

What the... you lose the ability to edit your posts after a few minutes? What's the point?

Jen

What the hey? My edit button disappeared?
Yeah, you get a ~15 min window to edit your post ... and then that is it. :)

I dont want to start a flame war about window managers, so what i'm going to say is: i use gnome because i preferre it over kde. i dont know why and i guess i never will.

Well, after a bit of fuss with image editors, I present my desktop (http://sal.neoburn.net/imagef1/files/blimey.jpg).

The theme is Ximian Remix by Big Daddy, running on LiteStep 0.24.7 RC 3 (but of course).

Wallpaper is Abstractive Promo 2 by abstractive.

Wow, there are a lot of Linux users here. I can't install Linux on my new machine because I'm using SATA RAID (and I wish to dual boot with windows) so >:-(

You can turn it on for individual threads - perhaps those in moderation could do it where appropriate (like here)

Only a little more simplifying to go now, but this (http://sal.neoburn.net/imagef1/files/Less_is_More.jpg) is getting closer.

I'm running 4 Linux desktops, each with a different and very tasteful picture of my imaginary dreadlocked grrlfriend, who is playing in the water on a private beach somewhere........

You'll just have to imagine them too!

I tried for a windows screenshot, but alas I seem to get this (http://sal.neoburn.net/imagef1/files/We_regret_-.jpg) all the time. At least I've cured the blue screen of death for now.
