Hi,

I have a micronet print server that I am using because my printer is located remotley from my PC (in a different room of the house).

It basically has a LAN plug on one side and a 25pin parralell plug on the other. I have assigned the server a static ip address that is compatable with my network.

My problem is setting up the computer to print to the print server. The book for this box is not very helpful.

Any ideas as to how to set it up would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Normally you run some set-up software, which then gives a new network printer port to assign to the device.

Install the printer as a local printer first (LPT1) then change the port to the network printer port. Run PSAdmin or equivalent (software should be with the print server or from the web, from their web-page) and it should confirm the existence and the IP address.

Only assuming you are using Windows here, of unknown version.

If e.g you are using XP's add printer wizard, choose the printer as local (not network), then when asked what port you want to use, select 'create a new one' and select TCP/IP, fill in the IP and then select your printer.
