here is an easy one for you
how do i make a boot disk to use when i do a clean install of 98se
i am running 95 and don't have access to a comp running 98se

I think MS expect you to boot the 98SE CD. It will take it from there. There will certainly be some 'readme' type files on it which you can read from W95.

Hi Steve,

If you have a newish computer then it should be able to boot off the CD (this can be set in the BIOS). However, since you have Windows 95 I will assume that the computer is reasonably old and does not have this feature.

The boot disk created in Windows 95 can still be used to boot up however this may not give you access to your CD-ROM unless you have DOS drivers available (note: boot disks created under Windows 98 provide CD-ROM access).

A good site to visit is http://www.bootdisk.com, from here you can download one of their boot disks which has generic drivers for CD-ROM support.
