Does it matter what ethernet cable I use on my xbox 360? is cat6 compatible with xbox live? Is it faster than cat5e?

Won't make any difference to the speed but either will work.

Faster but not required. cat5 will work fine.

speed is dependent on the network adapter. But gigabit will work on both 5e and 6.

I remember that you have said once that the theoretical higher speed that Cat6 offers can only be attained if the cables are not bent. Does that still hold true?

Doesnt really matter since its only 10/100

I remember that you have said once that the theoretical higher speed that Cat6 offers can only be attained if the cables are not bent. Does that still hold true? No. They're twisted-pair cables; you can bend them quite happily. As long as you don't snap the cores, you won't notice any difference in performance.

Note that you don't really need cat6 unless you're doing something really insane; gigabit will run just fine over any cable rated cat5 or better.

It's only if you tie a knot in the cable that things slow down ;)

At high speed the cable is a transmission line, the specs say don't have bends tighter than ~25mm radius. Easier to do that than troubleshoot later.

I guess its something to do with the Centrifugal Force created by the higher speeds!
