Last May here in ChCh we had 149 mm of rain, the highest May's rainfall since 1961.
Compare that with the median of 55 mm in the month of May.
Today we have had 39.4 mm of rain (up to 22:40), following on from 14.6 mm yesterday and 10.8 mm the day before. And it's still raining.
All this after 6 months of below median rainfall (since October).

Mark Twain said "Everyone's always talking about the weather, but no one DOES anything about it".

A friend of mine in Temuka has snow falling near him

Up here in Auckland, it rained a lot yesterday, but not much, if any, fell today.
