Good job. Should have have to pay out more money than the $24,000 and should get prison time.

Why do people do it for?

Surely once they have been caught they must regret what they have done and must think it would have been easier to buy a legal copy of the program than downloading it illegally and get caught.

The ones who lose out are the people who develop the software and their workers, families and who ever else. And once people know they can get it for free they don't stop to think how downloading it illegally will affect the developer of the software and the customers who end up having to pay more money for the genuine pruduct.

You can download a copy of any software, hell it takes me less than 30 mins to download a 3.7gb ISO of OpenSuSE, in less time it takes for one to get to his car, drive down to the computer shop and buy it.

Also I guess you didn't read it, he wasn't using pirated sh*tware, he was selling. Almost no one gets done for downloading anything.

Sounds like a Paki, they are pros...

:)

I feel sorry for the "dicks" who brought illegal copies off TradeMe. Some people must be stupid to think you can get a brand new copy of Office dirt cheap (he was more than likely under pricing them).

Have a friend who is getting a new laptop and MS Office. Knows nothing about IT other than creating a spreadsheet, word document and a email. Didn't know 2007 had a diff design as all he was brought up was the MS Office in the good old days and current days at home and office - office hasn't deployed 2007 for many reasons.

They turn it on, check email, surf the web, use MS Office and then call it a night. Perhaps play a DVD or a Mp3 file.
